Why is the library closing?

The goal of closing is to slow the spread of this disease. We are cooperating with CDC recommendations and federal and state officials to inhibit the spread of the disease. We care about our patrons and if the library is open and filled with patrons we defeat this purpose. These are challenging times, and we are sympathetic. We are sorry for the inconvenience. We hope to see you soon.

With school out, what will the kids do?

We support all of our patrons and we want to provide library services and programs. While our building is closed, we encourage everyone to use their library card to borrow and download from our digital library. The library has a large digital collection to which your library card gives you access. We know there is no substitute for a visit to your library. We are committed to getting our library reopened as soon as it is safe. In the meantime, we will be working to find ways to increase what we can offer electronically during the closure and we will communicate through our web page, Facebook, and Instagram with you as anything changes.

When will you reopen?

Our goal is to reopen as soon as it is deemed safe. Library administration and the Board of Trustees are continuously monitoring the situation. A decision will be made as soon as we can.

How can I renew my card while the library is closed?

Library cards that are set to expire while we are closed have been extended until May 30. If your card expired prior to our closing, please email or call the library to request an extension.

Call: (573) 686-8639

How can I renew my items?

No need to renew. All items are now due May 30.

Can I return my items in the book drop?

The parking lot book drop is closed. Please keep your materials at home until the library reopens.

Will I receive overdue or hold notices?

Overdue and hold notices are not being sent while we are closed. You will still receive eNewsletterss from the library with news and updates.

I have been waiting for an item I placed on hold before the library closed. Will I lose my place in line?

All holds are frozen. This means you keep your place in line, and all available holds are waiting on the shelf for when we reopen.
